How many years have you been brewing beer?

3

How did you get started with brewing beer?

We had moved from Wisconsin to North Dakota. We quickly found that North Dakota didn't have much to offer in the sales of craft beers. At least not near what we were able to find in Wisconsin. So my now husband and I decided to try brewing for ourselves.

What is your favorite type of beer to brew and why?

We tend to do a lot of Belgian beers, mostly due to my husbands Belgian background. We'll try anything once. We don't like to be stuck in one style. There is a 6 tap kegerator in the garage and we like to make sure the styles we've got to serve up are all different.

What is your favorite style of beer and why?

I mostly go for maltier styles. I favor Scotch Ales and Belgian Darks. I love the sweet and malty with a hint of hops, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy a good IPA or Red. I never limit myself to one style.

Is there anything else you would like to tell us?

Upon moving back to North Dakota we were really interested in finding homebrewers in the area. So after a little research and some planning we started the Muddy River Mashers Homebrew Club in Bismarck. It's almost been 2 years and the club continues to grow. It is an invaluable tool to be able to talk and share this great craft with those who understand the passion for brewing.
